Emergency Drill Record
A template to record the details and outcomes of emergency response drills.
Overview
Testing your emergency plan is mandatory. Recording the test is how you prove it.
Sections
- Drill Details: Date, time, type of drill (fire, spill, flood).
- Scenario: What was simulated? (e.g., “200L oil drum punctured by forklift in Yard A”).
- Timeline:
- Time incident discovered.
- Time alarm raised.
- Time response team arrived.
- Time “all clear” given.
- Observations: Did people follow the procedure? Was equipment available? Did the alarm work?
- Lessons Learned: What went well? What went wrong?
- Action Plan: What needs to be fixed? (e.g., “Buy more absorbent boom,” “Retrain forklift drivers”).
Best Practice
Take photos during the drill (if safe) and attach them to the report. It makes the review much more effective.
